I need some help modifying my intake system on my 03 ruckus, I've been going off of Sanjuro62 thread viewtopic.php?f=34&t=10043 for modifying intake systems for the 06-09 ruckus. So I've ripped out my stock air box and I am running the snorkel with a K&N intake filter, I put a breather filter on the left side of the carburetor, and I'm trying to find out if the 03-05 ruckus have the PCV Solenoid Valve. Not being able to find anything that looks like the PCV Solenoid, I am not able to attach the breather filter to it. Has anyone else had this problem? Please help.

The 03-05 ruckus does not have the PCV setup like the 06+ ruckus. You need to plug the hose that comes from the top of the head or attach a small breather to that also. Then you should be good to go, thats how I had it on my 03. :)

you also need to plug the vacuum line that was connected to the pair control valve.

So I now plugged both the line coming from the head and the vacuum line. I know that when you install an intake it messes with the air to fuel ratio and a rejet is required. When I started up the ruck, it will idle for about 2-4 seconds and die. When I give some throttle, it dies as well. This is normal when the carburetor has not been rejet or should it be running but with a lot of hesitation? I just want to make sure that I did the modification before I start rejetting my carb. Thanks again for the tips and advice guys! :D

please tell me that when u "plugged" ur hoses, u mean that u put breathers on them, cuz if u cut off the air completely to one of the tubes, then ur engine will die a few seconds after u start it.

My original post was kinda misleading, sorry!!! You want to put a breather or just leave the black hose on the tube that's at the top of the head. Plug the PAR valve which is on the lower left side of the head. Also plug the vacuum line that comes off of the intake manifold. Sorry for the wrong information, I didnt read what I wrote very well!!!

I'll take a couple of pictures tonite to show you exactly how yours should look!!!

If I remember right there is a 1/4" nipple right in front of the carb on the intake manifold.
