I'm on the middle clip. 38/85 but I'm BB w/ cam. MJ seems a bit high. 45 mph isn't that bad if you haven't modded the drive face. Also, I found that the polini belt is too long.
Hope this helps.

Hey Guys.... Just finish installing my PC20 and so far it's been good. She will bog if you wing open the throttle at launch but has no other issues through out the rpm range. My current setup is as follows:

Needle at the lowest
MJ 95
SJ 32
BP exhaust
Uni 2" filter
1.5 to 2 inch intake pipe w/ 45 degree bend
NCY CDI
NYC HE Coil
Polini Var w/ 5 gram sliders & Polini belt

After some idle adjustment she ran pretty good and I was able to get close to 45 but I was kind of hoping a bigger difference in power. Any idea on what can be done to get past the slight bog at low rpm?

So far I've done the following:
Changed out the SJ from a 35 to 32. This helped start up and idling a lot.
Adjusted the A/f screw to try and fix the bogging.
Test drove ---45 mph
Changed out SJ to 30 and MJ to 92
Wouldn't start.
Changed back to SJ 32, kept 92 MJ
92 MJ was lean and breaking up in the mid range
Changed out MJ to 95 and adjusted needle to lowest position.
Have no yet tested this set up.

Any advice would be nice. I've been kicking around the ideas of getting 5.5 sliders...

Update.

I changed the MJ at 92, kept the SJ at 32 with the needle at the middle notch for a good base line, this is with the intake I made additional. With the needle and SJ I didn't run into the lean breakup I had before. I'm going to have a look at the plug before riding to work (short ride). I think that the piping is big enough to not cause any huge issues people have experienced with the 1.5 piping, I'm going to continue testing with it on before giving up on the intake.

Since the above I took the advice of what was posted above and changed to a SJ of 35, MJ of 90 and needle at 2nd to the bottom. I'm going to try this combo out tomorrow and see where this gets me. Baby steps.

Continued to tune, SJ is still 35, MJ 88 and needle at the lowest, this is still with my 1.5 to 2 inch intake pipe setup. There is some break up in the mid to lower end so i'm upping the SJ tomorrow. So far so good! Here is the latest speed reading:

49 mph, I'm pretty happy = )

dump the intake. the filter on the carb will increase the velocity and allow you to lower your main. my top end was always best with the pc20. mid 50s, bombing in upper 50s. just couldn't snap the throttle and my ocd wouldn't allow that to be okay.

Update.

I was running this setup:
SJ is still 35, MJ 88 and needle at the lowest, this is still with my 1.5 to 2 inch intake pipe setup. AF screw 2 turns out.
I tried to go down to MJ of 85 but I hit the limit and was leaning out at 35 mph and higher.

Shortly after that I switched to the following setup:

SJ 40, MJ 78 and needle at the lowest with the filter directly on the carb. AF screw 2 turns out.
I'm testing this setup tomorrow to see how it feels. I drove it a little and noted Zero bogging.

try it out. you might be a little lean on the main. slow will be okay. you'll be a little fat on idle but that SJ will help with the bog.

Yeah I'm thinking about upping the MJ back up to 80. Top end doesn't feel like it pulls as much so i'm thinking I've hit that point where it's lean to the point of hurting.

Just read thru this for the 2nd time. I was gifted with a PZ20 and an assortment of jets, so I'm trying to figure out a good baseline to start at when the weather warms up. Seems like if you throw out smartbomb's 50+ slow jet, most people are running a 38 slow, and a main of 80-87. I'm thinking a good place to start would be 38/80, 2 turns out on the a/f screw, needle in richest position, and the filter directly on the carb. Assuming that will start and idle, gradually work my way up on the main 'til I hit the sweet spot. Still trying to wrap my head around the idea that it performs best without an intake runner, since that goes against everything I've learned about the stock carb. :dubious:

Does that sound like a good starting point? Head is DIY P&P'd and milled .010", compression ratio roughly 12.6/1, if that matters. Any and all advice appreciated...

Agreed with the above. I had a runner on it and did a good amount of test starting from the richest and working my way down. Filter on the carb yielded best results. I just added a Yoshi TRC exhaust and I'm now running the following setup:

SJ 40
MJ 80
Needle in the richest
Filter on carb
A/F screw fully tightened and then turned 2 full turns.

No bogging at the start... although I'm still working on getting it fully tuned since I just changed the exhaust. This is all on a stock motor (as in no cam, BB, or porting).
