Good move.

Now go buy a "STOCK RUCKUS" and enjoy riding for a change instead of modding it and wasting your money. :banger: :banger:

Modifying a 50cc motor for double the power is fun. Some people don't get it, but to each his own...

The graph below is rear wheel power output before and after mods, with a stock motor internally, and bsic changes to intake, exhaust, ignition, and variator drive. The Ruck is WAY more fun to ride, and satisfying to see the transformation.

Twice the power at 30mph, and max speed increased from 37mph to 51mph.

The first few mods to the air box and variator with roller weights were cheap fun using a tachometer as a guide.

If you leave the Ruckus as is in stock form it will run forever. You want to go faster than a stock Ruckus? Buy a faster bike like a Grom or a Big Ruckus. Spending 2000 dollars to mod a Ruckus to go 10 MPH faster is a waste of money. :ucrazy: You're better off getting a bigger bike. :banger:

Very true. But riding it is only half of the fun for some. Taking it all apart, tinkering and rebuilding is a great hobby and you learn alot about how all this stuff works. Bonus, with the Ruck it's actually an affordable hobby and not the end of the world if you mess something up. New bars? $30. New pegs? $50-$60. Blow up your GY6? $320. Try doing that with Harley's and you'll see what I mean.

But yeah, if you want something rock solid just to ride, leave it stock. But my Ruck is faster than a Grom... so... :D

Fast, Slow I don't care about that. Stock form is fast enough for me. I'd rather ride than tinker with the engine to go 10 mph faster.

See Ron? Actual numbers to prove. And it didn't cost 2000 bucks either. Not even close.

Your opinion is based on the fact that you are to scared to do any work on your ruck. Also, these mods do not make the engine any less reliable. AT ALL!!!!

Now please stop spreading fake news. For real.

Leave your Ruckus stock. It goes 41mph out of the box. If you want to go faster get a bigger/more powerful bike like I did. I got a Zuma 125 and love it. The only thing so far I don't like about it is the standover height. I'm 5'10" and have to reach the ground with my tippietoes in my birkenstocks. (for flip-er-birdie)

What're you gonna do when you lose your tippietoes when you crash? I'm assuming you're the type to rock the socks and birkenstocks look...the socks won't protect the piggies.

Ron, have you ever submitted a post that didn't say "stock is the best" in some way or another? I guess it's better than the "omg I just bought a grom and learned how to shift! lolz (ps-it's stock!)" phase we all got to read daily.

Those graph numbers don't seem very impressive. Still won't convince me to mod my Ruckus. If it ain't broken don't fix it.

Is it more fun to ride a slow bike fast, or a fast bike slow?

A stock Ruckus eventually becomes boring and unsafe when it can't keep up with cars pulling into traffic, or riding uphill. A few mods is all it takes to change that perspective.

I have no desire to own a different scooter. Honda designed the 50cc GET motor to run at the ~9000rpm rev limiter all day long with perfect reliability. Sensible modifications are just using the motor to it's potential.

I would rather ride a fast bike slow than a slow bike fast, because I like the comfort it affords me that I have something in reserve if i need it.
