Jesus Ron- shut the fuck up!!!

Quit talking about shit you know nothing about. Get motors are easy to modify to go faster. Just because you failed at it doesn't make it ok for you to discourage others from trying.

And you always talk shit about GY6 motors... its not the motors that fail- it's the coils and rectifiers and electronics that fail.

Get your facts straight before you further propegate your ignorance.

I get that you have a GET. I get that it's stock. I get that 35mph is cool with you.

Stop spreading ignorance. You are FAKE NEWS!!! AND YOU'RE FAILING!!!

You will be met with fire and whatever.....

Joel and Flip-er-Birdie should become friends. They both are not the sharpest tools in the shed.

Yeah, stfu Ron.

99 problems but a gy6 ain't one. Me vs. gy6 I'll tell you who'll win every time.

Putting Chineese parts(GY6) on a Japaneese Product(Ruckus) is about the same as mixing water and oil. They don't mix well. One is inferior to the other and will soon leave you stranded.

Keep in mind - I don't have an eight page thread of not wanting my birkenstocks or hands to get dirty.

Both require maintenance, however, which apparently will leave you stranded and crying online. (For over a year now, too.) :prophead

My overall Ruckus experience was a positive one. I bought the 2009 Ruckus 2 years ago for $1500 and then sold it yesterday for $1100. Considering it gets 100mpg, and was good for short jaunts, Its cost of ownership was excellent. I bought it with 4,000 miles on it and sold it with 10,700 miles on it. So all things considered that is $1500-$1100=$400 for 2years plus 10,700-4,000=6,700 miles/100mpg =67 x $2.29 a gallon = $153.00 for 2 years in gas. So it only costed me $553.00 for 2 years of ownership and I'm still wearing birkenstocks and my hands never got dirty.

Your asking the wrong person. I'm not wise. I got a D in Engineering Pre-Calculus, but I did get a B in Business Calculus.

This is for Tanuki and/or others considering the efficient mode of transportation of a Ruckus.

This is the total cost of ownership of the average usage of a Ruckus = 2 years x 365 days = 730 days/$553 cost of ownership for 2 years = .75 cents a day or............

10,700 miles - 4,000 miles = 6,700 miles / $553.00 = .08 cents per mile.

If you leave the Ruckus as is in stock form it will run forever. You want to go faster than a stock Ruckus? Buy a faster bike like a Grom or a Big Ruckus. Spending 2000 dollars to mod a Ruckus to go 10 MPH faster is a waste of money. :ucrazy: You're better off getting a bigger bike. :banger:

Very true. But riding it is only half of the fun for some. Taking it all apart, tinkering and rebuilding is a great hobby and you learn alot about how all this stuff works. Bonus, with the Ruck it's actually an affordable hobby and not the end of the world if you mess something up. New bars? $30. New pegs? $50-$60. Blow up your GY6? $320. Try doing that with Harley's and you'll see what I mean.

But yeah, if you want something rock solid just to ride, leave it stock. But my Ruck is faster than a Grom... so... :D
