Guidelines:
Use the product name for the thread title.
The review has to be at least two paragraph long, be interesting and informative to read, and related to the scene, don't do a review on Wallmart or how you hate Verizon. No drive by reviews, no lazy three line long reviews. Include details like price, shipping, availability, anything that a person looking to buy this product would find useful.
Include at least one good picture of the product taken by you that clearly shows the product being reviewed.
Pro and Con breakdown at the end.
You cannot do a review if you sell or are involved financially with the product being reviewed, but you can answer questions.
Absolutely no threadjacking, pornography or any sort of douchbagery, questions and answers must be on point.
Check for an existing product review before starting a new one. Additional reviews for the same product from other members should be added to the existing one and follow the same guideline as above.
Reviews that do not meet the above requirements will get deleted. We want the section to be helpful for users researching products.

Post subject: DRC Edge II Tail Light with Arrow Blinkers...
PostPosted: Sat Nov 21, 2015 5:12 pm
This is a DRC LED Edge II tail light and LED arrow blinkers made for a Suzuki DRZ Supermoto 400 that I adapted to my Ruckus because I like them so much on my 400. Been running them for seven years to date and they perform flawlessly. As far as I know, no one else has had the idea to put this on a Ruckus as it's not designed for it. However, with a generously large mounting plate it was very easy to adapt. It's really bright and the blinkers are unambigious because they're separate from the tail light.

Instead of removing the stock light mounting "tail" completely, I cut it short and put slots into it so I could bend it horizontal and simply bolted the whole LED assembly onto it. I like how it includes license plate mounting and lighting in the assembly. It's $110 shipped, from WheelingCycleSupply.com, and in my opinion it's well worth the money. The quality and finish are top notch. :)

Looks real nice. I used a stock grom led taillight on my ruckus. Much better then stock. And was only 35 shipped on ebay.

The Grom LED lights are nice, but I went with blinkers that are completely separate from the tail light as they're more clear, and just one assembly also takes care of the license plate mounting and illumination.

Gotcha. One thing tho, the stock from brake light doesn't have turns so you have to run signals like you did. There are grom replacement taillights that have intergraded turns but not the stock one. ]

Ah... thanks. I must have been looking at aftermarket Grom lights and didn't realize they weren't stock.

You're welcome, Joel. :)
Because the RuckRack overhangs the rear, it didn't matter that the light was also behind the bar rather than tucked underneath it. The location of the license plate also acts as a mudguard because the rear fender is cut short. The welded on piece that everyone usually cuts off is perfect for the tail light because it comes attached to a large flat metal mounting plate. I just drilled a couple of holes in the mounting plate to match the existing threaded holes in the welded piece and bolted it right on. The Edge taillight is a sportbike setup so it makes the back of the Ruckus look more like a legitimate bike.

I also really like the Ruckrack because unlike other larger heavier more complicated racks, it simply attaches to the 2 existing rear seat bolts and has a center metal tube with a curved end that rests directly on the rear bar. It doesn't interfere with the extra low seat mount and is exactly the same height as the seat so it looks like it belongs there.

The rear arrows turned out so well, I added matching fronts...

hello, was wondering if you remember how it mounts to the bracket? how far apart are the bolts? was thinking about using http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gloss-White-Honda-Ruckus-Tail-Light-and-Turn-Signal-Relocation-Bracket-/262583773923?hash=item3d23366ae3:m:mz6_SHMQrxZX0yzIKQIsIGA&vxp=mtr

with the DRC hoping the holes line up.

I've got one of those brackets and can tell you how far the holes are apart if you need that info. Hopefully the OP can tell you how far apart the bolts are.

according to this site: http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=11550

Quote:
The distance between the 2 bolts is 80-81mm approx centre to centre on the bolts.

Would be good to get confirmation from tooter. Interested in doing this same mod...
