My brother got into an accident with my Ruckus tonight... Worst part is that he has no riding license/insurance.
He was riding towards home and this fucking bitch decides to make an illegal U turn on his ass, T boning the shit out of him. The girl was parked on the sidewalk and didn't even check her blind spot.
Luckily my brother only suffered a broken foot.
The Ruckus on the other hand... suffered a little more damage.
This girl has some luck. She ran into a scooter almost killing someone and fucking gets away with it. I hope her hood has a huge ass dent from the helmet.
Is there anything legal I can do about this? Or should I start spending my own money for parts?
My brother paying for it, is not an option.
Thanks TR. Needed to vent a little.

Well she is at fault so therefore she should technically be liable. However I don't know the laws in your state. BlackRuck is a Lawyer he would be one to contact for some advice... don't expect it to be free. _________________

well she is at fault but she can also fight that your brother is not license and doesn't know how to ride a bike.. then she could counter sue for damage to her car,, i think the best thing to do is have your brother talk to a lawer... best thing i think.. But me find the dam girl tell her to pay for the damage and if she doesn't want to then make sure she won't be able to hit anyone any more .. lol
ohh yea... how your brother recovers fast!!! _________________ RUCKSTER # 3771

Im so upset right now... The more I think about it, the more I realise I can't do shit about it.
One advice for everyone, if you have a younger brother, don't leave the keys in the Ruckus... |

you should be able to talk to a lawyer for the first meeting to ask questions. yes she can counter but only for damages to her car.
Larry H. Parker is one, but seriously you should be able to find a lawyer for a free consultation. there should be something you can do here in calif. _________________ old fart on a ride |

Damn, how old is your bro? Maybe you can guilt your parents into repairing the Ruckus for you, that is if they don't go broke paying the hospital for his broken foot.
Sorry to hear about this mess, and at least your brother wasn't killed by the dumb bitch. _________________ My Flickr photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/sanjuro62/

this makes me nervous about "following the law" and riding on the far right side of the road here in the Masshole state where the cagers have no mercy at all |

i am confused. was this a hit and run, or did she stop? if it is hit and run, file a report, when and if they find her, she is screwed. if she stoped, then you have her information, you know where she lives...wink wink, nude nudge. i hope your bro is ok and you get your ruck back up and on the road. _________________

I'm going to move this thread to saftey tips and crash...
Did a cop come to the scene? Sounds like a good small claims court case. It shouldn't matter that your brother didn't have a license/insurance if the other driver was at fault. Not having or having a license/insurance wouldn't have caused this accident as you described the facts. _________________ Play Pinball

It was not a hit and run.
We got all her information. She is guilty 110%.
I do thank God my brother is fine. Just bruised and a broken foot.
The hospital bill is gonna be $$$$
And the Ruckus... my baby...
All my hard work on it. Sucks ass.
Thanks everyone for trying to help... Some street justice would be enough for me. If only he was a guy. |

Damn nice ruckus.
A LONG time ago when I got into an accident and the police report said it was my fault because I ran a red. The other driver hit me on the side. He didn't have a license or insurance. He was on a student visa. Regardless my insurance had to repair his car because I was liable for his damage. If it was his fault, I would be out of luck. Stupid system |
