|
|
Just thought I'd post some measurements and pictures to shut people up about the "can I mix and match parts" bit. We always say no, well here is why:
Axle Diameter:
NCY - 12mm
DIO - 10.25mm
Caliper Bracket Spacing:
NCY - 93mm
DIO - 85mm
Caliper Mount Spacing:
NCY - 43mm
DIO - 56mm
So, as you can see nothing interchanges, now before you pipe up with the "just make an adapter", I have a question for you. Why? The NCY System is sold as a kit, you get everything, if you want a Brembo caliper, that bolts on, you wouldn't want to put a smaller rotor on there (well a sane person wouldn't) and you wouldn't want to ditch the alloy for the stocker and put a rotation stopper on there. So, it's either 'DIO' Style all the way (more options too!), or NCY Only.
No more asking about this, ok? |

Why does the fork you have labeled NCY have a DIO stamp on it. I don't know anything about aftermarket forks and I'm in no way questioning your labeling...but that is weird. _________________ NATE DOGG |

The DIO stamp is probably etched onto the adapter by NCY so people know which adapter they need for their Honda Dio. The Dio forks on the left side, however, looks like the ones made by the company KN for the Honda Dio but IHAR probably labelled it Dio because that's what most of us call it no matter if it's the OEM honda one or the KN (both for the Honda Dio). _________________ ***See my Ruck HERE***

The NCY Adapter has DIO etched in it, the forks are generic, they fit many bikes. That billet adapter makes the generic fork work with the DIO style front wheel and caliper.
And yes those are not OEM DIO forks, notice I put 'DIO' not DIO. I think they are KN. |

Thanks a bunch for measuring these! Since there's a lot of aftermarket kit available here, it's good to have some 'Dio' measurements.
One question that I couldn't figure out from the pictures, did you measure the distances vertically (as seen by the red lines in your pic) or center to center? _________________ Second big Zoomer ride in the Netherlands, check the video here

Yes, and it's a TRUE 220mm not the 217mm you find on some of the other kits. |

In theory you can mount a NCY wheel to the Dio setup if the DIO forks was opened up to 12mm and spacers made to fit the disc to caliper clearance. Right? Only reason I ask is I have a extra NCY wheel and wonder if I can get Dio forks to fit the wheel. _________________ SGV Creeping CreW

You need to at least get some new wheel bearings then to fit a 10mm axle..
I think the NCY wheel might be the same as the one that pops up in a set on ebay from time to time. _________________ Second big Zoomer ride in the Netherlands, check the video here

More interesting than that, the new big rotor KN caliper that is out there looks like the NCY, might be another mix and match.
I'm not going to be the guinea pig, so for now, just say nothing interchanges! |
